WHO WE ARE

As Alcohol and Drug Counselors we know that an assessment is done first to target treatment problems(s) for the individual, being concrete and specific. However, while interacting with the individual hopefully they will choose to be referred to a treatment facility of their choice.

We are an intervention program designed to help substance abusers. We are also here to help other addictive issues to recognize their illness and volunteer for profession treatment rehabilitation.
This is a faith based ministry therefore in the group they will discuss their hopes, accountability resources, strengths, and vision. Being in the atmosphere will help some of them to know that many who have their faith in Christ struggle with some of the same negative behaviors. There will be people of different faiths in the group.
WHO WE SERVE

Damascus Road Ministries will be working with a diverse community involved in the effort to reduce the CURRENT opioid epidemic in Seattle. We will be collaborating with schools, human service providers, law enforcement agencies, the faith community and other private sectors.

Seattle has many rehab programs, and there are thousands of rehab venters all across the Untied States that can quite literally help anyone with any type of addiction crisis. For Seattle residents, it is now being strongly advised that anyone addicted to drugs in Seattle seek out rehab as soon as possible.
WHY WE DO IT
Damascus Road Ministries is a ministry in conjunction with our church Pillar of Truth Community Bible Church.
Pastor Alvin L. Currie is in active recovery currently working as a Chemical Dependency Counselor and is leading this small congregation.
We love all people and we want to be live and abundant life...free from bondages (additions/compulsive life destroying behaviors) that could have begun in a bad relationship, life problems, and or employment problems or a dis-connect from God. We believe that people with alcohol and drug problems plus other negative behaviors can regain their lives back once they decide to enter into "the world of recovery."
We realize it is a process that requires a lot of work on the part of the individual; however; one day at a time, one meant at time, we believe a transformation will take place. Because we are a faith based organization the transformation will be a lasting change. The Foundations of the DRM is based on spiritual principles and our relationship with God.
And when God does the changing it will be permanent. The person will not have to worry about will power and sticking with is relapsing again and again because he/she will be copoerating with GOD relaxing and trusting in Him alone.
